The list of pets allowed in UF dorms includes gerbils, lizards, frogs, salamanders and geckos, according to UF’s Housing and Residence Education pet policy agreement.
Only two pets from the approved pet list are allowed per resident.
Fish are the only exception.
Do dorms let you have pets?
Some colleges allow amphibians, reptiles and small caged pets, such as hamsters and chinchillas. Most do not allow cats and dogs. Colleges may set their own rules with regard to pets that are not service animals or assistance animals. The pet owner may be required to register the pet with the housing office.

At Ivy House and Windsor Hall, both freshmen and upperclassmen are eligible for single dorms, and they are guaranteed to be assigned to a single dorm room when they reserve (while available; once the singles are full, you can no longer reserve for Fall).
